Welcome from Headteacher
Welcome to Dorchester Middle School. I am delighted and proud to be the Headteacher of this inclusive school, which I believe belongs at the heart of our community. Every year I look forward to forging new relationships with parents and the local community to ensure that we provide a high quality education working in partnership.
This year we have introduced ROARS to our school community and we are in the process of imbedding each one of the words ROARS stands for: Ready – Original - Ambitious – Respectful - Safe.
Dorchester Middle School nurtures active learners within a caring environment, providing pupils with a safe place where they can take risks in their learning; make mistakes; have high expectations of themselves and be independent learners.
Our curriculum is founded on the principles of educating and empowering children to be articulate, reflective, creative, collaborative, questioning, respectful and kind. Our approach is holistic, focusing on the mental health and well-being of pupils in the understanding that a happy child is one who learns best.
These principles are underpinned by a full and varied curriculum supported by a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities. At Dorchester Middle School we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all our pupils, whatever their needs or abilities.
