Y8 Girls 5-a-side DASP Tournament - 9.2.15

Please congratulate the girls for the characters and for winning the DASP Y8 5-a-side football tournament

Please congratulate the girls for the characters and for winning the DASP Y8 5-a-side football tournament 1

Y8's met the other Middle Schools at Puddletown to battle out who would be the area winners!

All the girls were in a lively spirit until the kick off! Then the happy/lively spirits turned to snarling competitive athletes!

Our girls fought strongly against Ossies and outplayed Puddletown. The girls played well with impressive shot stops from Emily Chambers and Jess Lee battering her opponents away from her goal in defence. The fascinating thing with the DMS team is that they played pure team play and not one performance. Katie Gabe is clearly a great player but always played in her fellow team mates for goal opportunities. The DMS Y8 team has strong cohesion and enjoyed every second playing on Friday!

The girls played with such warming characters that the opposition weren't annoyed with them. In fact the other teams just wanted to play more and more against them.

In the end the girls came 2nd. A fair result

Please congratulate the girls for the characters and for winning the DASP yr 8 5 a side football tournament
