Dorchester Middle School

ICT

The computing curriculum at Dorchester Middle School follows the overarching structure of the National Curriculum.  There is a significant focus on coding - a key skill in preparing for he future world of work. This is supported by modules which develop children's skills in multimedia and business applications.  By the time children leave DMS, they will have experienced a wide ranging computing curriculum, revisited key sills to develop greater depth and have the foundation of computing knowledge upon which to build as they move to upper school.

All pupils receive one hour per week of specialist taught computing lessons in an air conditioned suite.  This is further supported by the use of a range of technology across the whole curriculum.

Every child has their own Google account and email account;  along with all aspects of online safety, these are closely filtered and monitored.
